Polski Standard Płatności along with MERA-SYSTEMY has initiated a process of BLIK implementation in ticket machines in public transport. Starting from July 12 the Łódź citizens, as the first ones, will be able to pay for tickets with BLIK. The payment operator is eCard S.A.
Since that day special labels will appear on the devices, informing passengers about the new functionality, and special messages will be displayed on screens. MERA-SYSTEMY is the first partner of Polski Standard Płatności, the BLIK operator, in offering a completely new BLIK functionality. The company is a renowned producer and designer of automatic systems for fee collection for services and products. Last year it concluded an agreement with PSP on rendering BLIK available in public transport ticket machines. The new solution was officially presented during the 11th International Railway Fair TRAKO in Gdańsk in September 2015. It is very simple: you need to install a mobile application of a bank – the participant of BLIK. The system generates a code automatically; this code has to be entered on the ticket machine screen. The transaction is confirmed on your smartphone. The code is valid only for two minutes and thus guarantees full safety.
“Starting cooperation with MERA-SYSTEMY increases abilities of BLIK and simplifies life for all its users. Using the mobile bank application for everyday purchases of tickets in the biggest Polish cities is a natural direction of BLIK development. The new service is another place to show convenience and safety of mobile BLIK transactions”, says Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, Vice-President of Polski Standard Płatności.
“Implementing BLIK in our ticket machines expands their functionality by an additional, modern channel which enables making payments. From now on passengers wishing to pay for the ride does not have to worry that they do not have coins or a charge card. A telephone will be enough. Simultaneously, the cooperation with Polski Standard Płatności strengthens the position of MERA-SYSTEMY as a leader offering the most modern technological solutions on the market of ticket machines”, says Michał Miernecki, Vice-President of MERA-SYSTEMY.
“We are happy that eCard has been chosen as the BLIK payments operator in the ticket machine handling project. It is an innovative implementation that opens a completely new area of a potentially huge volume of BLIK mobile transactions to us”, adds Ewa Bereśniewicz-Kozłowska, President of eCard S.A..
Today over 2 million users can use the BLIK mobile payments system. Since its start in February 2015, over 3.5 million transactions have been made with BLIK. You can pay with BLIK in more than 148 thousand terminals in stationary shops, cafes and service providing facilities, as well as in most internet stores via a majority of Polish payment settling agents and payment integrators such as: eService, Dotpay, Przelewy24, Transferuj.pl, CashBill, eCard, PayTel or First Data. However, BLIK also provides a possibility to withdraw money safely from a majority (about 14.8 thousand) of ATMs, such as: Euronet, Planet Cash and PayTel and to make payments directly to a phone number in P2P service (at present in ING Bank Śląski, Bank Millennium, Bank Zachodni WBK, mBank and PKO Bank Polski).

More information on the new system of BLIK mobile payments can be found on http://www.blikmobile.pl and on the website of Polski Standard Płatności – http://www.polskistandardplatnosci.pl.
Basic information on Polski Standard Płatności and the BLIK mobile payment system – BLIK is a common system of mobile payments; it is a project of Spółka PSP, whose shareholders are six Polish banks (Alior Bank, Bank Millennium, Bank Zachodni WBK, ING Bank Śląski, mBank, offering services also as Orange Finanse, PKO Bank Polski and Inteligo), covering about 60 per cent of all customers of national financial institutions. The design of the system makes it possible for other national banks and companies operating on the financial market to join it quickly on the same conditions. Since May 2016 BLIK can be used by the Getin Noble Bank customers. Among new partners who will join the system at consecutive stages, among others, are: Credit Agricole, Eurobank, NeoBank, BNP Paribas Bank Polska and Idea Bank. The introduction of BLIK in Poland is a milestone in the process of creating a national common payment standard using new technologies. The openness to cooperation with other financial institutions on the same conditions provides possibility for a very quick development and constant expansion of the network for phone payment acceptance which guarantees a whole range of possibilities offered to the users.
